Lum-Ka-Naad Northridge and Encino branches are closed for dinner this evening, October 19, 2016 in memory of the passing of our beloved nation father: His majesty king Bhumibol Adulayadej, Rama IX Of Thailand. We are hosting service at Wat Thai Buddhist temple, North hollywood at 7.30 pm. Because of similarity of tropical climate here, the ilhabela, to southern part of Thailand. It's very warm with high humidity year round here due to the rain storm received periodically. The area is covers with full of lush green vegetation like in Phuket and Krabi provinces of Thailand in the south. Anything grows in Thailand and Southeast Asia, it ' would growing even better in ilhabela island. And any of thai food ingredients can also certainly grow here from galangal root, lemon glass, kafir lime tree, thai chili, including jackfruit and mango trees which already found abundant here.

My only complain for Ilhabela is the bug calls Borrachudo. They are very tiny and flying everywhere at open space. I got my blood sucked all over my body. It's so itchy. You will see people here have with them a repellant at all time. You can get it any where in small convenient store or supermarket.

Brazil is such a big country, diverse in its population of origin. The country could have more attracting to the world tourist including the American if more Brazilian able to speak English or Spanish. Without Tourism authority of Thailand, Thaitrade, and the DPNY resort here this trip won't be possible. You are not going to enjoy visiting, if you don't know Portuguese. Today we made our trip island downtown where all of the luxury nice stores pack together avail to tourist. The church in the middle of town with a caption must has quite impressive history to tell tourist. Disappointedly, it's all written in Portuguese.

Shopping at the local grocery in ilhabela island, where the local shops. Food cost here is half or qtr of price we are spending in LA while people here earn half or lesser than us. It's indicate that the inflation rate here is a lot higher than us.

Lum-Ka-Naad husband and wife chefs, Alex and Ooi Sonbalee are now on our trip promoting thai cooking to the Brazilian at the DPNY, Ilhabela, São Paulo, Brazil during Dec 3 - 11, 2013. First Thai Food Festival will be hosted at Paramount Pictures Studio, in Los Angeles this Sunday, September 29, 2013, from 3 - 6.30 pm. General Admission is $50, and VIP ticket is $75. Lum ka Naad will features three of our specialty dishes on that day. Please stop by at our tent.
